In March 2011 the agency DISCOVERY Research Group has finished the research of accumulator batteries market in Russia, having evaluated its volume in 12,4 mln. of accumulators (at the end of 2010), which is 1,5 times more, than it was in previous year – 8,2 mln. peaces.
At the end of 2010 the part of Russian manufacturers at the market of accumulator batteries was 45,8%, which is 7,1% less, than it was in previous year. The foreign manufacturers of accumulator batteries increased the volumes of import and for the first time they surpassed the Russian manufacturers in the struggle for the market. In spite of the foreign manufacturers dominance the first place is hold by the Tyumen accumulator batteries plant and Alkor – 14,9% of the total value of the market if 2010. The second place is hold by the Ukrainian company “Vesta-Dnepr”, its part at the market is 10,2%. The third place is hold by AKOM plant – 9,2% at the market.
According to the results of 2010 6,73 mlns of accumulator batteries were brought to Russia, their total price is USD 320 millions, which in physical terms is 73,6% more than it was in previous year and twice more in monetary terms.
According to the results of 2010 the volume of export of Russian accumulator batteries was 159,9 thousand pcs, their total prise was USD 8,87 millions, which is 2 раза less, than it was in previous year. The largest importers of foreign accumulator batteries are: Vesta-Dnepr, VB Autobatterie, Farmakom, Johnson Controls and Mutlu. These five manufacturers hold more than a half of the whole import.
About one third of accumulator batteries imported to Russia are produced in the Ukraine. The Russian manufacturers - ZAO Akom. AkTech and Tyumen accumulator batteries plant hold about ¾ off all the export of the vehicle accumulator batteries. More than a half of all the export is directed to Kazakhstan. The average price of vehicle accumulator batteries import rates depending on the manufacturer, country of origin and technical characteristics. In 2010, it was USD 80 per unit.
On the assumption of the sales volumes at the car market and of other factors, we may assume that the accumulator batteries market may increase by 15-20% annually.
